ALS In Home Care for Orange County Seniors and Adults

How to cope with day to day living while having ALS

ALS Home care provides assistance at home for individuals who have a diagnosis of ALS and need help with personal care (bathing, dressing, incontinence) that they cannot manage alone. For many individuals with early stage ALS, the prospect of losing mobility and independence is difficult to accept. Our caregivers at A-1 Home Care recommend joining local support groups to emotionally handle your diagnosis.

Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis, commonly known as Lou Gehrig’s Disease, is a progressive illness that affects the body’s central nervous system and ability to move. Seniors or adults suffering from ALS will require a live-in or respite caregiver in advanced stages of the illness. Eventually, symptoms become so severe that paralysis occurs. In the last stages, movements become minimal.

It is, however, possible to live a fuller life with ALS. Many clients have activities and trips they’d like to take while still mobile. Our travelling caregivers can provide 24 hour care for domestic and international travels.

A-1 Home Care provides empathetic care for people suffering from ALS in the cities of Newport Beach, Corona Del Mar, Huntington Beach, Tustin, Costa Mesa and other cities of Orange County.
